Printmaker & Visual Artist I Chandigarh I India
Shachi Sekhri is a Chandigarh-based printmaker whose artistic journey is rooted in a deep pursuit of eudaimonia through creativity. A graduate of Government College of Art, Chandigarh, she holds both a BFA and MFA in Printmaking, following her schooling at Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, Sector 26.
For Shachi, art is a medium of inner awakening and connection. Her practice currently centres on portraiture, where she explores the symbolic meaning of lines—each line representing an individual’s lived experiences, stories, scars, and spiritual layers. Through her sensitive approach, she strives to look beyond physical features and into the emotional and inner worlds of her subjects.
Self-portraits form a significant part of her work, allowing her to capture her own emotional and spiritual evolution. Her strong spiritual grounding reflects in the harmony she creates between the internal self and the external world.
As a printmaker, Shachi works extensively with woodcut and linocut, drawn to the expressive potential of lines and their ability to convey diverse moods and emotions. Her recent explorations involve integrating cubes and geometric forms with portraiture, expanding her visual language and symbolic depth.
Continuously evolving, Shachi sees herself as a work in progress—committed to growth, experimentation, and contributing meaningful art to society.
