Aljohara Jeje is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice engages with diverse geographies, histories, and cultural narratives. Raised in the Netherlands, she has lived and worked in China, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, and currently Greece—experiences that have significantly shaped her artistic outlook. Her work has been exhibited internationally in China, Germany, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States. She holds a degree in Product Design from the Netherlands and a degree in Art Photography from Belgium.
Although rooted in photography, Jeje’s practice extends beyond the medium to include ancient artistic techniques and material processes that have endured across centuries. Her work encompasses photographic image-making, canvas-based compositions, and immersive installations. Through these forms, she explores culture as a dynamic and evolving phenomenon shaped by individuals and communities. Addressing themes of identity, gender, and social conditioning, her work employs symbolism and layered narratives to prompt reflection on shared human experiences that transcend cultural and geographic boundaries.
