ARUNDHATI A PISE

ARUNDHATI A PISE

Visual Artist | Pune, Maharashtra, India

Born in 1991, this Pune based visual artist works primarily in oil and acrylic, developing a contemporary practice rooted in abstraction, social narratives, and emotional expression. A graduate of Devrukh College of Art & Design, Ratnagiri, affiliated with the University of Mumbai, she holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) along with a Craft Teacher Diploma (CTC D.Ed.). Since 2016, she has been actively engaged in building a body of work that reflects both personal introspection and broader socio-cultural concerns.

Her practice navigates themes of feminism, social identity, and everyday Indian life, blending imagination with lived experience. Through vibrant colour palettes, layered textures, and expressive forms, her paintings create immersive visual spaces that resonate with emotional depth and narrative complexity. Each work reflects an intuitive dialogue between colour, form, and memory, inviting viewers to engage with both the visible and the underlying emotional currents.

A significant body of her work is encapsulated in the series “Between of Two,” which explores the delicate balance between the distractions of modern life and the search for inner purpose. The series transforms ordinary moments into contemplative visual metaphors, where turbulence and stillness coexist. Nature emerges as a recurring anchor, symbolising renewal, clarity, and quiet resilience. Through rhythmic brushwork and tonal contrasts, her compositions evoke a meditative quality, encouraging pause, reflection, and reconnection.

Her work operates at the intersection of tradition and contemporary thought, offering a space where personal contemplation becomes universally relatable. By engaging with themes of balance, identity, and inner harmony, her practice extends beyond aesthetics into a reflective experience. Through her evolving artistic journey, she continues to explore how abstraction can communicate deeply human stories while fostering a sense of connection and introspection.
