Visual Artist | Karachi, Pakistan
Born in 1990 and based in Karachi, this artist is known for meticulous pen-drawn compositions that explore the emotional landscapes of everyday life. A graduate of the Centre of Excellence in Art & Design, Jamshoro (now Shaheed Allah Buksh Soomro University of Art, Design and Heritage), the practice has steadily evolved since 2011 through consistent studio work, teaching, and exhibitions.
The visual language centers on line as both structure and emotion. Dense networks of hand-drawn marks form figures and spaces that reflect ordinary people, their moods, and the subtle rhythms of daily existence. Deep blacks dominate the surfaces, punctuated by restrained yet vibrant color patterns drawn from Sindhi cultural motifs. These moments of color act as emotional accents, suggesting joy, memory, and cultural continuity within otherwise monochrome worlds.
The work aims to translate happiness and human complexity into the language of line, capturing quiet, often overlooked moments rather than dramatic narratives. Through repetition, patience, and detail, each drawing becomes a meditation on lived experience.
Alongside an active exhibition career at national and international galleries, the artist has been engaged in art education since 2017 as a faculty member at a leading art institution in Karachi. Recent recognition includes selection among the top ten artists at the Busan International Art Festival in South Korea. Together, practice and pedagogy reflect an ongoing commitment to drawing as a contemporary yet deeply rooted form of expression.
