Contemporary Abstract Artist | New Delhi, India
Born in 1998 in New Delhi, this contemporary abstract artist works within a conceptual space between image and language, where movement, colour, and texture become tools for introspection and dialogue. A graduate of the College of Art, New Delhi (BFA), the practice reflects an intuitive and process-driven engagement with abstraction.
The work explores the intersection of materiality and emotion, translating personal narratives into layered visual forms. Through gestural marks, fluid compositions, and evolving surfaces, a language emerges that resonates with both individual memory and shared experience. Circularity, rhythm, and organic movement often shape the compositions, allowing them to unfold with a sense of continuity and energy.
A key aspect of the practice lies in the use of unconventional materials, including untreated fabrics such as Manjarpatta, where the surface actively participates in the making. Techniques such as pouring paint, layering dry pigments, and embracing chance introduce unpredictability, giving the work a raw and tactile quality. Drawing from abstract expressionism alongside traditional Indian textile sensibilities, the work bridges contemporary abstraction with material-led processes.
The works have been presented at significant platforms including the India Art Fair with Strangers’ House Gallery and Gallery Art & Soul, and Art Mumbai with Akara Contemporary, alongside group exhibitions such as Room for Seeing. Residencies in Baroda and Paris have further expanded the scope of inquiry and experimentation.
As a young woman working in abstraction, the practice subtly challenges historical narratives while contributing to evolving conversations around representation. Currently based in New Delhi, the works are part of private collections in India and internationally.
