Sukhjit Kaur is an interdisciplinary visual artist whose practice spans painting, sculpture, drawing, and graphic composition. Rooted in fine arts, her work centers on the expressive potential of the human figure and the relationship between movement, gesture, and form. Through kinetic figurative structures, contorted poses, and layered compositions, she explores the tension between motion and stillness, revealing emotional depth and psychological intensity within bodily expression.
Kaur’s artistic process is grounded in sustained observation and drawing, with detailed sketches often forming the foundation for her paintings and sculptural works. Her vibrant use of color and attention to structural balance give her figures a tactile, fleshy presence, while her background in graphic and digital media informs the clarity of her visual language. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from GGS College, Chandigarh, and earned her Master’s degree in Fine Arts as a medalist from Panjab University in 1997. Her works have been presented in several exhibitions, including those organized by the Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi at Punjab Kala Bhavan, CLKA Gallery, Virsa Vihar, and Kalagram, Manimajra.
