Visual Artist | Karachi, Pakistan
Born in Peshawar and raised in Karachi, this emerging visual artist explores the complexities of the human condition through figurative painting and expressive portraiture. Educated in Arts and Design at Cedar College, the practice is rooted in a deep fascination with emotional expression, identity, memory, and the relationship between individuals and the social environments they inhabit.
Working primarily with the human figure, the artist creates compositions that balance realism with symbolism, allowing personal experiences and psychological states to unfold through color, gesture, and form. The creative process often begins with spontaneous sketches inspired by shifting moods and inner reflections, which are later developed into layered paintings. While the figures may initially appear calm and introspective, they frequently reveal underlying tensions, reflecting the delicate interplay between desire, love, vulnerability, and self-awareness.
The work investigates how people navigate contemporary life, examining both personal and collective experiences. Human forms become visual metaphors for emotional journeys, portraying moments of contemplation, conflict, resilience, and transformation. Through carefully observed expressions and nuanced color palettes, the paintings invite viewers to engage with themes of belonging, identity, and the unseen psychological landscapes that shape everyday existence.
Over the years, the artist has participated in several notable exhibitions and art platforms, including the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), Islamabad; the Bristol Refugee Festival, United Kingdom; the Global Encounters Festival, Dubai; Artist Open Studio, Lahore; Gallery 6, Islamabad; Allah Bux Art Gallery, Lahore; The Reservoir, Lahore; and O Art Space, Lahore. Participation in the Arjumand Painting Award exhibition further highlights a growing presence within the contemporary art scene.
Through an evolving visual language that combines technical discipline with emotional depth, the artist seeks to create works that resonate with universal human experiences while remaining deeply personal and reflective.
