Avinash Pise

Visual Artist | Pune, Maharashtra, India

Born in December 1992, this contemporary visual artist is based in Pune, Maharashtra, India, and has been actively pursuing a professional artistic career since 2016. The practice explores abstraction, emotion, and contemporary visual narratives through a distinctive fusion of movement, color, and intuitive expression.

Working across watercolor, acrylic, and oil mediums, the artist is particularly drawn to watercolor and acrylics for their ability to capture dreamlike landscapes, abstract forms, and reflections of Indian culture. Early explorations in landscape painting and plein-air studies gradually evolved into a deeper engagement with abstraction, which became the most authentic medium for expressing inner experiences and emotional states.

Academically trained with an Art Teacher Diploma (ATD) and a G.D. Art Diploma in Painting in 2016 from Savitribai Phule Chitrakala Mahavidyalaya, Pandharpur, affiliated with Mumbai University, the artist combines technical knowledge with a highly experimental approach.

The creative process is inspired by the dynamic relationship between chaos and order, movement and stillness, and the visible and invisible forces of nature. Using unconventional tools such as rollers and squeegees, large-scale compositions emerge through physical gestures that transform painting into a meditative and immersive act. Influences from action painting and Zen philosophy are evident in the balance between spontaneity and mindfulness.

Vibrant fluorescent palettes, layered textures, and recurring linear elements characterize the work. These visual motifs symbolize unity, infinity, interconnectedness, and humanity’s relationship with the natural world. Gradations of color and energetic mark-making evoke optimism, transformation, and spiritual resonance.

The resulting paintings invite viewers into an immersive experience that extends beyond visual appreciation. Through color, texture, and scale, the work encourages contemplation, self-discovery, and a renewed awareness of the profound connections that unite individuals, nature, and the universe.
