What is the submission deadline?

Submission deadline is 9 January 2026. All entries must be uploaded and paid for by this date; physical works must reach the venue by the specified receipt date.

Who is eligible to participate?

Open to all women artists worldwide. Minimum age 17 years as of 1 January 2026. Members of the advisory board and organizing committee may submit but are not eligible for awards.

What categories are accepted?

Accepted categories: Painting/Drawing, Printmaking, Photography, Sculpture & Ceramics. Mixed media considered within category rules.

How many works can an artist submit?

Up to three artworks per artist may be submitted. However, typically only one work per artist will be selected for display in the physical exhibition.

What are the entry fees and payment methods?

Professional entry fee is ₹850 and student entry fee is ₹650. Payments are accepted online via the submission portal (card/UPI/netbanking). All fees are non-refundable.

What are the artwork size limits?

Paintings/Drawings/Prints/Photographs: maximum 180 cm x 180 cm; Sculpture/Ceramics: maximum 90 cm x 90 cm x 90 cm. Oversized works may be rejected.

Is there a price limit for works?

Yes — artworks listed for exhibition should not exceed ₹1,00,000 in asking price, unless otherwise agreed with the organizers.

Can framed works be submitted?

Yes. Works should be suitably framed and ready-to-hang. Ensure hanging hardware is secure. Unframed works may be accepted if prepared for safe display.

Are digital-only submissions accepted?

Initial submissions are digital (images). Selected works for the physical exhibition must be shipped or hand-delivered as per receipt dates.

What image specifications are required for submission?

High-resolution JPEGs or PNGs (minimum 1500 px on the longest side), with accurate color and clear framing. Include close-up detail images if required.

Is there a student category?

Yes — there is a student category. Student applicants must provide proof of current enrollment and satisfy the age criteria for student awards.

How are entries selected?

A professional jury conducts a two-stage selection: initial digital shortlisting followed by final jury selection of works for exhibition and awards.

When will selected artists be notified?

Shortlisted artists will be notified via the email provided at submission. Check the event page for dates of jury announcements.

Do artists need to deliver their works to Chandigarh?

Yes — selected physical works must be delivered to the specified receiving address in Chandigarh by the receipt deadline. Shipping instructions will be provided.

Who bears shipping and insurance costs?

Artists are responsible for shipping and insurance to the venue. Return shipping arrangements and costs are also the artist's responsibility unless otherwise stated.

Is packing material returned?

Generally packing materials are not returned. Arrange appropriate packing for safe transport. Organizers may provide guidance on packing but not return boxes.

Are artworks insured while on display?

Organizers take reasonable care during the exhibition but full insurance coverage is the responsibility of the artist unless specific insurance arrangements are announced.

Can artworks be for sale during the exhibition?

Yes — works may be offered for sale. Artists should indicate sale price and commission terms during submission. The organizers typically take a commission on sales—see terms.

What is the commission on sales?

Commission on sales varies and will be stated in the terms and conditions at submission. Artists are advised to read the sale policy carefully.

Can shortlisted artists withdraw?

Shortlisted artists may withdraw, but must notify organizers in writing before specified deadlines. Withdrawals after selection may affect future eligibility.

Are there awards and cash prizes?

Yes — multiple awards for professional and student categories with cash prizes and certificates. Exact prize amounts are published on the event page.

Will there be a printed catalogue?

Yes — a fully illustrated catalogue featuring selected works will be published and distributed to participating artists and stakeholders.

Do artists retain copyright of their works?

Artists retain copyright unless otherwise assigned. Submission grants Artscapes a limited right to reproduce images for promotional and catalogue purposes with proper credit.

Can previously exhibited or awarded works be submitted?

Works that have already received awards elsewhere are generally ineligible. Re-exhibited works may be accepted subject to disclosure; check the terms for specifics.

Are installation and video works accepted?

Installation and video works may be considered but must conform to size, technical and venue constraints. Provide full technical rider and shipping details at submission.

What languages are accepted in submissions?

Submissions in English are preferred for administration. Artist statements and labels should be supplied in English; regional language notes may be included.

Is there a refund policy for fees?

Entry fees are non-refundable except in exceptional circumstances disclosed by the organizers. Check the terms and conditions for refund policy details.

How do I prepare a submission statement?

Provide a concise artist statement (150–300 words), title, medium, dimensions, year and price for each work. Ensure images accurately represent the work.

Are group submissions allowed?

This competition accepts individual artist entries only. Group submissions should be made by an individual artist representing the work.

How is jury anonymity handled?

Initial digital jury may use anonymised images where possible, but artists' names are part of submission metadata. Final jury procedures are at the discretion of the organisers.

What happens if my work is damaged in transit?

Report damage immediately upon receipt. Organizers document damage and will advise on claims, but insurance and claim filing are the artist's responsibility.

Can I nominate another person to deliver or collect my artwork?

Yes. Provide a written authorization letter and ID proof of the proxy at drop-off/collection. The organizer may require confirmation details in advance.

Are courtesy transport/installation services provided?

Local installation support is provided during the exhibition. Transport is not typically provided except under special arrangements announced on the event page.

What labeling information is required for exhibited works?

Provide title, year, medium, dimensions, price (if for sale) and artist name. Labels will be produced by the organisers based on submitted metadata.

Is packing material required for returns?

Yes — provide return packaging or arrange return shipping. Organizers may return works in the original packing if available and clearly labeled.

Will there be artist talks or events during the exhibition?

The program may include artist talks, workshops or panel discussions. Check the event schedule on the website for confirmed sessions.

Are framing and matting services available?

Organizers do not typically provide framing services. Artists should submit works ready for display. Local vendors may be recommended on request.

Can I update my submission after payment?

Minor edits to metadata may be allowed before the submission deadline. Contact the organizers immediately for changes; changes after shortlisting may not be permitted.

How will winners be notified?

Winners will be notified by email and announced on the event page and social channels during/after the awards ceremony.

Are there age restrictions for the student category?

Student category requires current enrollment in a recognized institution; specific age limits may apply to certain awards—refer to the eligibility section.

Can an artist submit work on loan from a collector?

Yes, provided the submitting artist has authority to submit and includes provenance and loan documentation during submission.

What information should be included in shipping documentation?

Include artist name, work title, catalogue number (if provided), value for customs, and return shipping instructions. Follow the organisers' shipping checklist.

Is customs clearance the artist's responsibility for international shipments?

Yes — artists are responsible for customs clearance, duties and paperwork for international shipments unless specific arrangements are announced.

Can I request my work back before the exhibition closes?

Requests for early return are usually not granted except for exceptional circumstances; contact the organisers with reasons and allow time for approval.

How long does the jury process take?

The jury process comprises an initial digital review and subsequent physical selection. Timelines are posted on the event page; expect several weeks between submission and final announcement.

Are certificates provided to participating artists?

Yes — participating and award-winning artists receive certificates. Details regarding collection or delivery will be provided after the event.

Is artist travel or accommodation provided?

How should I label fragile sculptures for shipping?
