Terms and Conditions
Eligibility – The Artist
- Open to all women artists (students, professionals, independents).
- Minimum age: 18 years as of 1 January 2026.
- Open to Indian and international participants.
- Artscapes council members, advisors, and volunteers may participate but are ineligible for awards.
Eligibility – The Work
- Works must be original, completed on or after January 2024.
- A maximum of three (3) works may be submitted per category. Only one work will be selected for exhibition.
- If entering two categories, artists must submit two separate entries with fees paid separately.
- Works previously awarded in other competitions are not eligible.
Size Restrictions:
- Painting / Drawing / Print / Photography: max. 6 ft. × 6 ft. (180 × 180 cm)
- Sculpture / Ceramics: max. 3 ft. × 3 ft. × 3 ft. (90 × 90 × 90 cm)
Pricing: Works must be reasonably priced and not exceed INR 1,00,000.
Entry Fee (Non-refundable; per category, per artist)
- Students: ₹600 (valid student ID required), under 25 years and enrolled in a recognized institution
- Professionals: ₹850
- International entrants: Pay the equivalent fee in USD, plus a $2 transfer charge.

Entry Process & Requirements
- To be eligible for the Women in Art Prize 2026, entrants must submit an Artist’s Statement (max. 400 words) explaining how this award would impact their practice and career development.
- Artists who wish to exhibit only (without competing for prizes) may do so without submitting a statement.
- A non-refundable entry fee applies to all submissions.
- Submissions may be made:
- Online: www.artscapesindia.com
- Offline: By post, courier, or in person at the Artscapes office.
Submission Guidelines
ONLINE Submission:
- Completed online submission form
- Valid email address (ensure Artscapes domain is not blocked; check spam/junk folder)
- Image files of the work as per guidelines
- Artwork details: title, medium, size, year, and price
- Entry fee payment confirmation
- Artist Profile (max. 300 words)
- Artist Statement (up to 400 words, if competing for a prize)
- Online applications will be accepted till 12.00 midnight of 6th January 2025.
Offline submissions must also include:
- Printed application form (downloadable from the website)
- Passport-size photograph of the artist
- Up to three high-quality photographs of each submitted work (JPEG + 8×12 inch print)
- Artwork details written on reverse of submitted photos
- Physical/Off-line applications alongwith photographs and entry fees will be accepted until 9th January 2025, between 10:00 AM-06:00 PM (closed on Sundays) at the Artscapes Office
Key Dates & Deadlines
- Submission Deadline: 9 January 2026
- First Jury Selection: 21 January 2026
- Receipt of Selected Works: 18 February 2026
- Award Jury (Final Round): 24 February 2026
- Award Ceremony & Exhibition Opening: Third week of March 2026
Selection, Judging & Notifications
- First Jury (Photographs): Initial review based on submitted images.
- Final Jury (Original Works): Selected artists must send original works.
- The names of the judges will be published in the exhibition catalogue.
Verification of Originals
- If an original work differs significantly from its submitted image, it may be excluded from display.
- Copied or plagiarized works will be disqualified entirely.
Notifications
- First Jury List: Published 21 January 2026 at www.artscapesindia.com.
- Merit List: Published 27 February 2026.
- Prize Winners: Notified individually and invited to the awards ceremony.
- The jury’s decision will be final and binding.
Image Submission Guidelines
- Format: JPEG (.jpg)
- File size: Maximum 5 MB
- Resolution: 300 dpi (preferred) / 250 dpi (minimum acceptable)
- Image dimensions: At least 3000 pixels on the longer side
- Compression: High quality (10–12)
- Color mode: RGB (not CMYK)
- Images must be clear, in focus, without frames, mats, or watermarks.
- File Naming: FirstName_LastName_Title.jpeg
- Example: John_Smith_Untitled.jpg
- Do not use special characters (#, !, *, etc.) or stray spaces in file names.
Additional Notes
- Artscapes may crop or adjust images for formatting in catalogues, website, videos, or marketing materials.
- Zipped files and web-based formats (e.g., .gdoc) are not accepted.
- Preview thumbnails during upload are for reference only; jurors will view the full-quality file.
Selected Artist Artwork Delivery
For Indian Artists
- Deliver works between 21 January – 18 February 2026 (Mon–Sat, 10:30 AM – 5:30 PM).
- Address: Artscapes, SCO 7, 2nd Floor, Sector 30-D, Chandigarh – 160020.
- Works must be securely framed (acrylic preferred; no glass).
For International Artists
- Use recognized couriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx).
- Works must be sent rolled/unframed for safe transport.
- Customs duties must be prepaid.
- Artists are responsible for both outbound and return shipping.
Important: Obtain a written undertaking from your courier confirming no additional handling charges will be claimed from Artscapes upon delivery.
Prizes & Awards
Professional Category
- 1st Prize: ₹50,000
- 2nd Prize: ₹45,000
- 3rd Prize: ₹40,000
- 4th Prize: ₹35,000 (2 Prizes)
Student Category
- 2 Awards of ₹25,000 each
- 2 Awards of ₹20,000 each
International awardees will receive the equivalent prize in USD (subject to tax laws).
All awarded works become the property of Artscapes.
Awarded Artworks
- All awarded works become the property of the organizers.
- Artscapes reserves the right to use images for catalogues, posters, websites, and other publicity materials.
Winning artists must sign an Authenticity Certificate during the Inaugural Ceremony.
Catalogue & Certificates
- A full exhibition catalogue will be released at the inauguration.
- Certificates of participation, merit, and awards will be distributed.
Winning artists must provide:
- Two images of the selected work (full + detail)
- Artist photograph
- Work description (max. 300 words)
- CV (max. 400 words)

Travel Expenses for Award-Winning Artists
- Awardees reimbursed 3rd Class AC train fare (India only, against original tickets).
- Lodging provided during the award function.
- For international awardees: only domestic Indian travel reimbursed + 3 days of lodging.
Sale of Works
- Artscapes manages all sales during the exhibition.
- 20% commission is retained on each sale.
- Copyright transfers to the buyer upon sale.
Return of Works
- Unsold works must be collected within 3 months of exhibition closure.
- Artists bear return transport/courier costs.
- Works not collected within the period may be disposed of at Artscapes’ discretion.
Exhibition & Display Conditions
- Final Selection Binding: Only works selected by the jury will be exhibited. No substitutions allowed.
- Duration of Display: Works will remain with Artscapes for the entire exhibition. Early withdrawal not permitted.
- Framing & Presentation: All works must be securely framed/mounted and exhibition-ready. Outstation artists must use acrylic (no glass).
Insurance & Liability
While all care will be taken, Artscapes is not liable for loss or damage during transport, storage, or display. Artists should insure works independently.
Copyright & Reproduction Rights
- Copyright remains with the artist.
- Artscapes reserves the right to reproduce images for catalogues, publicity, and documentation.
Data Protection & Privacy
Personal data will be used only for competition administration and will not be shared with third parties without consent.
Acceptance of Terms
Submission of the entry form and payment of the entry fee constitutes acceptance of all rules and conditions stated in this prospectus.
