Colours of Freedom at Consulate General of Canada

An art event, Freedom of Expression, was organised by Artscapes to mark Canada’s 145th birthday on July 1, 2012. Several young and senior artists from Chandigarh came together in the portico of the Consulate General of Canada, Chandigarh to paint a massive live canvas expressing their ideas extempore. Aptly themed Freedom of Expression, the idea was initiated by city-based Suraj Mukhi Sharma, Principal Promoter of Artscapes. Many well-known people, including Justice MMS Bedi, Baltej Dhillon, the first turbaned Sikh to be admitted to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Manohar Lal, Principal, Govt. College of Art, Chandigarh, Jodh Singh, Ishwar Dayal, Sonal Virdi, Sanjay Kumar, Daffy Brar, Neenu Vij, Satwant S. Sumail, Alka Chadha, Ravindra Sharma, Subhash Shorey, Bheem Malhotra, Prabinder Lal, Sadhna Sangar, Jagdeep Jolly, Viney Vadhera, Nitin Dutt et al took part in the exhibition.
