Inukshuk Workshop

Inukshuk Workshop

To mark Canada Day on June 26, 2013, Inukshuk making workshop was organised by Artscapes at the Consulate General of Canada. Inukshuk, the singular of inuksuit, means “in the likeness of a human” in the Inuit language. They are monuments made of unworked stones that are used by the Inuit for communication and survival.

A whole new dimension was added to the word Inukshuk as slabs of coloured ice were used. Efforts of the participating artists transformed the slabs of ice into pieces of art.
