Terms and Conditions
Eligibility
The competition is open to all women artists, both nationally and internationally.
- Only exhibits selected from the entries marked “for competition” will be eligible for the awards.
- General Council Members, Advisors, Volunteers of Artscapes, and their relatives may participate in the exhibition but are not eligible for the awards.
- The minimum age for participation is 17 years as of January 1, 2025.
- All artworks must be the original creation of the artist, executed on or after January 2023.
- For participation under Student Category, a copy of valid Identity Card from recognised College/University/Institution is a must.
- Already awarded artworks will not be accepted for the exhibition.
Entry Fee (Non-refundable; per category, per artist)
- Student Category: Rs. 650/- (Rupees Six Hundred Fifty Only)
- Professional Category: Rs. 850/- (Rupees Eight Hundred Fifty Only)
Each artist may submit up to 3 entries per category.
Artists can apply to multiple categories separately, with the fee applied to each category individually. Payment can be made in cash, DD, or Postal Order, payable to Artscapes at Chandigarh.
Submission Deadline
Physical/Off-line applications alongwith photographs and entry fees will be accepted until 6th January 2025, between 10:00 AM-06:00 PM (closed on Sundays) at the Artscapes Office. Online applications will be accepted till 12.00 midnight of 6th January 2025.
All selected artworks must be properly framed and ready for display. For outstation artists, it is highly recommended to use ACRYLIC FRAMES (instead of glass) for safe transportation.
For international artists, the artworks should be shipped rolled (unframed).
The organizers will not be responsible for the transportation of the artworks. Sculptures made from fragile materials such as glass, terracotta, paper, plaster of Paris, or any breakable substance must be carefully packed to prevent damage.
Markings on Original Artworks
Once the artworks have been selected and confirmed by Artscapes, an identification slip containing the following details MUST BE properly attached to the back of the artwork:
- Name & address of the artist
- Title, size, medium, and year of creation
Size of Artworks
The maximum size for each type of artwork is as follows:
- Paintings/Drawings/Printmaking/Photography: 6 ft. x 6 ft. (180 x 180 cm)
- Sculptures: 3 ft. x 3 ft. x 3 ft. (90 x 90 x 90 cm)
Selection & Judging
- All entries received for the 11th Annual Women Artists’ Contemporary Art Exhibition 2025 will be reviewed by the Selection and Judging Committee.
- The process will involve a two-tier jury:
- Preliminary Jury: Shortlists the entries for the exhibition
- Final Jury: Selects the awardees
- All works that meet the selection criteria will be judged.
- The decision of the Judging Committee will be final and binding. No correspondence will be entertained on the subject.
- If any artwork appears unsatisfactory due to variation from the submitted image, it may be rejected from the exhibition. Also, If any artwork appears unsatisfactory for display, it may be rejected from display. However, the artist will still receive a Certificate of Participation, and the artwork will be included in the exhibition catalogue.
- The names of the judges will be published in the exhibition catalogue.
- The results of the selection will be available on the website: www.artscapesindia.com after January 15, 2025.
Awarded Artworks
- Awarded artworks will become the sole property of Artscapes, and the artist shall have no objections or claims regarding the artwork.
- Artscapes reserves the right to use images of any selected exhibits for catalogues, posters, hoardings, and any other publicity materials, including website or media publications.
Exhibition
The final exhibition will take place at Chandigarh.
Return of Artwork
- Removal of Artwork: Once accepted, no artwork may be removed before the exhibition ends.
- Transportation Responsibility: Artscapes is not responsible for the transportation of artworks. While we handle and pack artwork with care, we are not liable for any loss or damage during transit.
- Cost of Transportation: Artists are responsible for all transportation costs, both to and from the exhibition.
- Post-Exhibition Collection: Artists must collect their artwork within three months after the exhibition ends. If uncollected, Artscapes reserves the right to dispose of the artwork, and the artist will have no claim to it.
Insurance
While Artscapes will take all reasonable precautions to ensure the safe handling, transit, and display of the artworks during the exhibition, IT WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR DURING DISPLAY OR STORAGE. No claims will be entertained in this regard. Artists who wish to insure their artworks may do so at their own cost.
Catalogue and Certificate
A comprehensive catalogue featuring all the selected exhibits will be published and released on the inaugural day of the Exhibition and Award Distribution Ceremony. A Certificate of Participation, Merit, or Award will be provided to the artists.
The winning artists must submit the following documents in a timely manner to allow for the printing of the catalogue for the opening day:
- Two images of the selected artwork (full and detailed) in JPEG format
- A photo of the artist in JPEG format
- A description of the artwork (up to 300 words), including title, technique, year of creation, etc.
- Artist’s profile (maximum 200 words)

Sale (During Exhibition Period Only)
- All sales will be negotiated by Artscapes, which will retain 33% on each sale.
- Copyright for paintings sold through Artscapes will be transferred to the buyer. Artists are advised to price their exhibits reasonably to facilitate sales.
Travel Expenses for Awarded Artists
- In India: Awardees will be reimbursed for travel expenses based on the shortest distance (3rd Class AC Railway fare, round trip) within India. Lodging will also be provided during the Inaugural/Prize Distribution Ceremony. Original travel tickets must be submitted for reimbursement.
- International Awardees: Only travel expenses incurred within India (for attending the exhibition) will be reimbursed.
By registering, the artist acknowledges responsibility for any damage to the artworks entrusted to Artscapes during the entire period of the competition-cum-exhibition, including delivery (to and fro).
All efforts shall be made for redressal of any grievance request or dispute or complaint and same shall be resolved exclusively at Chandigarh.
Artscapes reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions, and the decision of the organizers will be final and binding.
