Q: Is it acceptable to submit images of several artworks, or should I submit multiple views of the same artwork?

You may submit images of several pieces or multiple views of the same piece; both options are acceptable.

Q: Can I send a digital image of my artwork as an entry?

Yes. All entries must be in digital format with the following specifications: Each image must be at least 72 dpi and 200 KB. The shortest side of the image must be at least 338 pixels. All entries must be in JPG format. Each image should not exceed 5MB and should be smaller than 7500 x 7500 pixels.

Q: Will the judging be based on the actual artwork or the images submitted?

The first round of judging will be based on image files in JPG format. The second round will be based on the original artwork.

Q: What are the Image Requirements?

Image should be in JPEG format, 72 dpi, with the highest compression quality of 12. Image should not exceed 5MB. Image should not contain any frame, mat, or watermark. Image Labeling Guidelines : Image should be labeled as FirstName_Lastname_Title.jpeg (Example: John_Smith_Untitled.jpg). Do not include special characters such as #,!, * or stray spaces in the file name, as this may prevent the file from uploading. Image should be clear and in focus. This image represents your work. Artscapes may crop or color-correct your images to enhance the overall presentation and for formatting purposes for the website, YouTube videos, presentations, marketing materials, etc. Files should be .JPEG/.JPG in RGB color mode (not CMYK). File size maximum: 5 MB. Zipped files and web-based files (e.g., .gdoc) are not accepted. Avoid using punctuation in entry titles (e.g., use "My Entry Title" – not “My Entry Title”). Note: When entering online, the viewing screen and thumbnail you see during the entry process are for general reference only and do not reflect the image quality that will be viewed by jurors. The file you attach is exactly as it will appear to the jurors.
