Awards

Yes, but artwork replacement is subject to approval. The replacement must be similar in style and medium to the selected piece.

Entry Fee

No, entry fees are non-refundable except in cases of double payment or payment error.

Yes. If an artist is selected for the collective exhibition award, they are responsible for all shipping charges to and from the exhibition space. Artists are also responsible for shipping and insuring the work during transit.

1. For online submission, the fee is ₹750 for students and ₹950 for professionals.
2. The entry fee is ₹650 for the student category and ₹850 for physical submission in the professional category.

We accept online payments, credit cards, bank transfers, and cash (for physical submissions at our office).

Art Submissions

Accepted categories: Paintings, Sculptures, Photography, Printmaking, and Drawing.

Most art contests accept all mediums and styles. You can submit any type of artwork, including oil paintings, sculptures, drawings, photography, Printmaking and drawing.

A participant can submit up to 3 entries in one category.

No. A participant can submit up to 3 entries in each category, but all entries must belong to the same category (e.g., all paintings, all sculptures, etc.).

Guidelines and Eligibility

No. All submitted artwork must be available for sale.

Yes, the competition is open to women artists worldwide, and all artists will receive equal consideration.

You will receive an email confirmation. If you do not receive confirmation within 48 hours, please check your spam folder before contacting us at [email protected]. Artists submitting entries within 48 hours of the deadline must email their submission information to Artscapes at [email protected].

Yes, miniature sculptures are accepted. If selected, the artist is responsible for installing the work and ensuring it is protected in a Plexiglas box during the exhibition.

No, AI-generated art is not accepted. The competition celebrates human creativity and artistic expression.

Artwork created before January 2023 is eligible.

Yes, all entrants must be at least 17 years of age. We do not accept entries from minor artists.

2D Work: No larger than 75 x 85 inches (192 x 218 cm).

Diptych/Triptych: Multi-part works can be up to 168 inches (427 cm) wide, with each piece no larger than 75 x 85 inches (192 x 218 cm).

3D Work:

Pre-assembled works (one piece) must not exceed 72 x 72 x 24 inches (184 x 184 x 61 cm).

Multi-part works for assembly in the gallery should not exceed 72 x 72 x 36 inches (184 x 184 x 92 cm).

Video art, film, performance art, jewelry, AI-generated art, and crafts are not eligible.

Image quality is crucial. This is the only representation of your work that the jurors will see, and a poor-quality image—such as one that is blurry, has glare, poor lighting, or includes distracting background elements—can negatively impact your chances of being selected.

No, please do not include watermarks, signatures, or any copyright information on the images. All images must remain anonymous to ensure fairness in the selection process. Any image with artist names, watermarks, or other identifying marks will be disqualified.

File/Additional Requirements for Online Entries

  • Image should be in JPEG format, 72 dpi, with the highest compression quality of 12.
  • Image should not exceed 5MB.
  • Image should not contain any frame, mat, or watermark.
  • Image Labeling Guidelines: Image should be labeled as FirstName_Lastname_Title.jpeg (Example: John_Smith_Untitled.jpg). Do not include special characters such as #,!, * or stray spaces in the file name, as this may prevent the file from uploading.
  • Image should be clear and in focus. This image represents your work.
  • Artscapes may crop or color-correct your images to enhance the overall presentation and for formatting purposes for the website, YouTube videos, presentations, marketing materials, etc.
  • Files should be .JPEG/.JPG in RGB color mode (not CMYK).
  • File size maximum: 5 MB.
  • Zipped files and web-based files (e.g., .gdoc) are not accepted.
  • Avoid using punctuation in entry titles (e.g., use “My Entry Title” – not “My Entry Title”).

Note: When entering online, the viewing screen and thumbnail you see during the entry process are for general reference only and do not reflect the image quality that will be viewed by jurors. The file you attach is exactly as it will appear to the jurors.

Selection & Judging Criteria

All entries received for the exhibition will be reviewed by the Selection and Judging Committee.

The judging process involves a two-tier jury:

  • Preliminary Jury: Shortlists the entries for the exhibition.
  • Final Jury: Selects the awardees.

Artwork will be judged based on the following criteria:

  • Creativity
  • Originality
  • Quality and technique
  • Overall design
  • Artistic ability
  • Use of medium

Yes, the decision of the Judging Committee will be final and binding. No correspondence will be entertained on the subject.

If any artwork appears unsatisfactory due to variation from the submitted image, it may be rejected from the exhibition.

If an artwork is deemed unsatisfactory for display, it may be rejected from display. However, the artist will still receive a Certificate of Participation, and the artwork will be included in the exhibition catalogue.

Yes, the names of the judges will be published in the exhibition catalogue.

Required Material

Yes. All entries must be in digital format with the following specifications:

Each image must be at least 72 dpi and 200 KB. The shortest side of the image must be at least 338 pixels.

All entries must be in JPG format.

Each image should not exceed 5MB and should be smaller than 7500 x 7500 pixels.

You can use professional photographs, take digital photos yourself, or scan the work directly using a flatbed scanner.

Image quality is crucial. This is the only representation of your work that jurors will see, and a poor-quality image (e.g., blurred, affected by glare, dim lighting, or background objects) may reduce your chances of being selected.

You may submit images of several pieces or multiple views of the same piece; both options are acceptable.

No, all images must be clear of any watermark or copyright information so the identity of all artists remains anonymous. Judges will not see the names of the artists. Any images containing watermarks or other identifying marks will be disqualified.

Results

Results will be emailed to all participating artists and published on our website on January 15, 2025.

Sales / Commissions / Copyrights

All participants must understand that any artwork image submitted to the Women Artists Competition 2025 will be used for promotional purposes only.

Yes, the artwork is the property of the artist and will be returned at the end of the exhibition if not sold. The artist is responsible for paying for return shipping.

The exhibition space has a 60/33 commission structure: the artist receives 60% of the list/retail price, and the exhibition space receives 33% of the list/retail price.

Payment will be made within 3 weeks after the organization receives full payment for the sold artwork.

Shipping, Insurance & Framing Responsibility (for both national & international entries)

Yes, all shipping and customs arrangements (for international entries) and associated costs are the responsibility of the selected artists. Additionally, it is strongly recommended that all artworks be insured during shipping.

If selected, your work must be framed or stretched. You are responsible for any costs if the work arrives unframed/unstretched. Frames should be similar in style to maintain uniformity in the exhibition space.

International artists should send the unframed artwork only. However, the artwork must be appropriately prepared and ready for hanging.

Participation

A student is anyone under 25 years of age who is currently enrolled in a recognized school, college, or university.

Yes, self-taught artists who have not studied art formally are eligible to submit to the professional category.

Yes, Artscapes reserves the right to use images of any selected artworks for promotional purposes. This includes use in catalogues, posters, hoardings, online platforms (including the Artscapes website), and other media publications.

Transportation Responsibility:
Artscapes is not responsible for the transportation of artworks. While we ensure that all artwork is packed and handled with the utmost care, we are not liable for any loss or damage during transit.

Artist’s Responsibility:
Artists are responsible for all transportation costs, including the shipping of artworks both to and from the exhibition.

Post-Exhibition Collection:
Artists must collect their artworks within three months after the exhibition concludes. If artworks are not collected within this time frame, Artscapes reserves the right to dispose of them, and the artist will forfeit any claim to the piece.

Awarded Artworks

Awarded artworks will become the sole property of Artscapes, and the artist shall have no objections or claims regarding the artwork.
