Second prize-winner Kanika Arvind Kumar Shah hails from Vadodara in Gujarat. She was born in 1987, completed her schooling from Gujarat Refinery English Medium School in Vadodara, BVA in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts, MS University, Vadodara, and post-graduation (MVA in Graphics), Faculty of Fine Arts, MS University, Vadodara. She works in different print-making mediums such as woodcut, serigraphy, etching, digital print etc. She received the highest award for Graphics in Artist category in 52nd Gujarat State Lalit Kala Academy, Dr Iwasaki Prize in the 6th Kyoto International Woodprint Association (Kiwa-2011), Japan, among many others. Kanika was selected for 53rd National Exhibition of Art, Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi and an exhibition in Guanlan International Print Biennial, China, among others. Kanika sees the world through her art and believes in giving hundred per cent to whatever she does.
