The first prize-winner Seema Kadam hails from Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh. She was born in 1985 and did her schooling from the Government Padma Girls High School in Gwalior, completed graduation (BFA - Painting) from the Government Institute of Fine Art, Universirty of Kheragarh, Gwalior, in 2007. After completing post-graduation (MFA - painting) from the Government Institute of Fine Art, she worked at Bharat Bhavan Bhopal Graphic Studio for three years. Today she is a freelance artist. Seema has participated in various exhibitions, including MP State Exhibition in Gwalior, Agnipath National Exhibition in Delhi, among others. She has received many awards, including Government of India Scholarship, HRD Ministry, New Delhi, the 22nd All-India Art Contest, 2008, in Nagpur, et al. Seema believes that paintings are a medium through which she expresses her inner feelings on the canvas. She works in different mediums such as water colour, acrylic, charcoal, pencil etc and loves to experiment.
